California Transparency in Supply Chains Act Disclosure
San Jamar’s ethical sourcing standards and practices represent a global Supply Chain initiative requiring our direct suppliers to protect the health, safety, and human rights of their employees. Suppliers must adhere to standards regarding forced labor, child labor, health and safety, equitable pay, and harassment in the workplace. We require that our suppliers identify and quickly address any unacceptable conditions or practices in their facilities. We will not do business with suppliers who do not support the fundamental principles of human dignity and rights of workers to fair and equitable treatment. We base our supplier requirements on adherence to existing international standards.
The California Transparency in Supply Chain Act requires certain companies to disclose information regarding their efforts to eradicate slavery and human trafficking from their Supply Chains. In accordance with the Act San Jamar’s disclosures are as follows:
Verification: In order to address risks of human trafficking and slavery in its supply chains San Jamar has developed a Supplier Code of Conduct which requires that all suppliers follow the elements of the code and verify via signature that they are doing so.
Auditing: San Jamar does not currently conduct on site audits of suppliers. San Jamar does participate in specific customer audit programs as requested.
Certification: San Jamar requires that all suppliers comply with applicable government regulations, as well as San Jamar policies and procedures. Signature is required on the San Jamar Code of Conduct for Suppliers.
Accountability: San Jamar’s employees are held internally accountable for ensuring that San Jamar meets its standards regarding slavery and trafficking through San Jamar’s Code of Conduct for Suppliers. The code of conduct requires employees and contractors to engage in ethical source selection. It also makes it clear that compliance with applicable government regulations and Company policies and procedures is required at all times.
Training: San Jamar provides the required information to its Supply Chain employees as well as its’ suppliers regarding ethical sourcing policies and procedures.
